songs of the earth, heal my soul features three songs for alto saxophone and piano that showcase lyricism in different styles. wanderlust weaves its way through different melodic themes, showcasing flowing melodies and ending with extended altissimo. weeping uses saxophone overtone trills and multiphonics to create a delicate atmosphere that is dreamlike, majestic, and fragile all at once. burning pits the saxophone in a race against itself based on a repeating groove. While channeling different energies, all three songs invite you to listen to your soul and see what it has to say to you.

songs of the earth, heal my soul was commissioned by Jacob Nance, who helps my soul to sing.
