icicle eyes

icicle eyes is a microconcerto commissioned by Noah Mallett. Warm and icy soundscapes are juxtaposed throughout the ensemble. Like icicles, some moments are jagged and pointillistic. Like icicles, some moments blend together into a melting, beautiful puddle. Eyes show the most subtle changes in expression and share the subtle differences between warmth and ice. Eyes show the unexpected similarities between warmth and ice and how both can exist together at once.
